What We Do.

Foster Care

The #1 goal of our organization is to keep pets in safe and loving homes while supporting mental health recovery. We believe that no one should have to relinquish their beloved pet due to an inability to find care during inpatient or residential mental health treatment.

After Care

Healing relationships with our pets can be a crucial aspect of recovery after treatment. The Winston Foundation provides a 6-12 month After Care Program led by social workers and certified peer support specialists in order to support our clients in their recovery as they take over the responsibility of being a pet parent once more.

Blessing Bags

Addiction among unhoused individuals is running rampant in our country. Often times, when considering individuals experiencing financial insecurity and/or homelessness, we often overlook their four-legged friends. We have set out to create “blessing bags” to disperse across the city of Cleveland for pet owners experiencing hardship so that they have some of the resources that they need to care for themselves and their best friends until they get back on their feet.

Community Support

Throughout our community, many animal care organizations are in desperate need of support in order to keep their doors open to those in need.

At the Winston Foundation, we work to support our community partners in every way possible, including hosting fundraisers, assisting in foster care, and more.
